Introduction

Refillable water bottles are a great item to have. I must have a dozen or so at the office, in the cellar, in the cupboard and in the car.

Why do I have so many? Because shortly after I set the refillable water bottle down, I am off to someplace else, with my hands or my mind full and I left the water bottle behind. They are not user friendly for someone on the go. I need a water bottle at my side so my hands are free to carry my whatnots and my mind is busy thinking.

With this Water Bottle Belt Clip I can have water with me all the time so I can stay hydrated. I can rid myself of all of those extra refillable bottles giving me a clutter free work area, reducing my ecological footprint and downsize my life.

The benefits of this design are:
1) Inexpensive, Easy to Make and Use,
2) Hands are free to carry or hold things,
3) You can position the Water Bottle Belt Clip on either the right or left side or along your back,
4) Adjustable to hold different size water bottles and
5) 100% Dishwasher safe.

Materials & Tools

Materials:
1) Water Bottle,
2) #36; 1 3/4“– 2 1/4” or #56; 3” – 4“ Stainless Hose Clamp (depending upon the diameter of the bottle),
3) Stainless Fork/Spoon (Not all Stainless is created equal. If the flatware is very stiff, does not bend a little, then do not use it for this application. Find one that does bend, otherwise when you bend the end, it will snap off.) You can use the Handle or Head to make the clip. I have tested both Heads and Handles and I prefer the Handle. Knives do not work.

Tools:
1) Hack Saw,
2) Pliers,
3) Hammer,
4) File,
5) Screw Driver
6) Marker.

1) Squeeze the Vice Grip Pliers about 3/16 to 1/4 inch from the end of the Handle to make your 1st bend at 90 degrees. Use the Hammer to reach 90 degrees,
2) Measure and mark the Hose Clamp for the 2nd bend,
3) Squeeze the Water Pump Pliers to make your 2nd bend around 170 degrees,
4) Slide the Handle onto the Hose Clamp,
5) Use the Water Pump Pliers to crimp the end, so that the 1st bend is now less than 90 degrees. This will prevent the Hose Clamp from sliding off the Handle.

1) Use the File to trim the Hose Clamp end so the end will rest inside the Handle,
2) Slide the Hose Clamp around the Water Bottle so that it rests between 1/2 to 3/4 up from the bottom,
3)
Twist the Screw Driver to close the Hose Clamp around the Water Bottle,
4) Slide your Water Bottle Belt Clip over your belt to see if it comfortable. If it is not comfortable move the Hose Clamp up or down. You may have to adjust the Handle so that it slides easier over or holds more tightly on the belt.
