Serves 4

This warm broccoli dish is so simple to make that eating vegetables becomes easy.  The hint of toastiness from sesame oil and sesame seeds just makes the dish extra special.  Few ingredients, uncomplicated cooking technique, spectacular results.  Definitely a case where the sum of the parts is greater than the whole.

Great with all Asian dishes.

Ingredients

12 oz to 1 lb of broccoli florets, washed and trimmed
1 ½ tablespoons toasted sesame oil (100 % pure sesame oil, like Kadoya brand)
¼ teaspoon salt
¼ teaspoon black pepper

Steam broccoli until crisp tender.  You can steam in your microwave by placing florets in a large microwaveable bowl, adding 3 tablespoons of water to the bottom of the bowl, and covering it with saran wrap.  Cook in microwave for 2 to 3 minutes, depending on the strength of your microwave.

Remove broccoli from heat.  Drain water if necessary.
