In this instructable you'll see: How I made some holders, over my workbench, on a big piece of melamine, for some of my hand tools.
![1.jpg](/proxy/?url=https://content.instructables.com/F2R/T266/IR5MW8FI/F2RT266IR5MW8FI.jpg&filename=1.jpg)
![2.jpg](/proxy/?url=https://content.instructables.com/FTJ/GVSG/IR5MW8H6/FTJGVSGIR5MW8H6.jpg&filename=2.jpg)
I made these two same holders for my T-Handle Torx/Hex keys, Nut Drivers, Rasps and Screwdrivers.
![3.jpg](/proxy/?url=https://content.instructables.com/FFU/341T/IR5MW8L0/FFU341TIR5MW8L0.jpg&filename=3.jpg)
I placed them down to calculate the space I need to let, between every tool, in order to find the right length of the wood.
![4.jpg](/proxy/?url=https://content.instructables.com/FA8/WKP9/IR5MW8MN/FA8WKP9IR5MW8MN.jpg&filename=4.jpg)
![5.jpg](/proxy/?url=https://content.instructables.com/F6P/2NNI/IR5MW8OJ/F6P2NNIIR5MW8OJ.jpg&filename=5.jpg)
I marked the distances and extended them with a try square.
![6.jpg](/proxy/?url=https://content.instructables.com/F4H/MNSZ/IR5MW8OK/F4HMNSZIR5MW8OK.jpg&filename=6.jpg)
Then I started measuring the exterior diameter of every tool and at the total result I added one millimeter (half millimeter perimetrically), in order for them to get in and out more easily.
![7.jpg](/proxy/?url=https://content.instructables.com/FZ3/KUI4/IR5MW8SH/FZ3KUI4IR5MW8SH.jpg&filename=7.jpg)
I did the same process for the other piece.
![8.jpg](/proxy/?url=https://content.instructables.com/FVA/4YC2/IR5MW8VB/FVA4YC2IR5MW8VB.jpg&filename=8.jpg)
I opened all the holes needed to both pieces very carefully, for the depth of every hole to be up to the middle of the thickness of the wood.
![9.jpg](/proxy/?url=https://content.instructables.com/FTP/PTJZ/IR5MW8WC/FTPPTJZIR5MW8WC.jpg&filename=9.jpg)
In this case the thickness of the wood is two centimeters, so I opened holes 1cm deep.
![10.jpg](/proxy/?url=https://content.instructables.com/FDU/GCNG/IR5MW8YG/FDUGCNGIR5MW8YG.jpg&filename=10.jpg)
![11.jpg](/proxy/?url=https://content.instructables.com/FI0/G9I3/IR5MW8YS/FI0G9I3IR5MW8YS.jpg&filename=11.jpg)
Now I measured the interior diameter of every tool, adding again half millimeter perimetrically, for the same reason.
![12.jpg](/proxy/?url=https://content.instructables.com/FX7/DAVV/IR5MW8ZW/FX7DAVVIR5MW8ZW.jpg&filename=12.jpg)
I opened again all the holes needed for every tool but this time each hole went from one side to the other.
![13.jpg](/proxy/?url=https://content.instructables.com/F55/LB8J/IR5MW914/F55LB8JIR5MW914.jpg&filename=13.jpg)
![14.jpg](/proxy/?url=https://content.instructables.com/FD0/PMBI/IR5MW92M/FD0PMBIIR5MW92M.jpg&filename=14.jpg)
I fliped it over and marked the two abutting external lines of every circle.
![15.jpg](/proxy/?url=https://content.instructables.com/FWS/12B0/IR5MW93T/FWS12B0IR5MW93T.jpg&filename=15.jpg)
Adjusted the blade to the right height.
![16.jpg](/proxy/?url=https://content.instructables.com/FA2/1RQO/IR5MW955/FA21RQOIR5MW955.jpg&filename=16.jpg)
![17.jpg](/proxy/?url=https://content.instructables.com/F83/OQ8B/IR5MW96C/F83OQ8BIR5MW96C.jpg&filename=17.jpg)
![18.jpg](/proxy/?url=https://content.instructables.com/F3E/CKFM/IR5MW97O/F3ECKFMIR5MW97O.jpg&filename=18.jpg)
![19.jpg](/proxy/?url=https://content.instructables.com/F6B/MVLT/IR5MW9CV/F6BMVLTIR5MW9CV.jpg&filename=19.jpg)
... and I started cutting with precision until the blade touches the 2 lines I drew before.
![20.jpg](/proxy/?url=https://content.instructables.com/FDI/9X0W/IR5MW9GJ/FDI9X0WIR5MW9GJ.jpg&filename=20.jpg)
Then I sanded all the sides of both pieces very well.
![21.jpg](/proxy/?url=https://content.instructables.com/F4B/AN40/IR5MW9I7/F4BAN40IR5MW9I7.jpg&filename=21.jpg)
Because this is softwood and it leaves splinters on the edges, I needed to sand all the points with a soft sandpaper by hand.
![22.jpg](/proxy/?url=https://content.instructables.com/F8C/19TN/IR5MW9JW/F8C19TNIR5MW9JW.jpg&filename=22.jpg)
In order the tools to come in and out more easily, I did a little rasping between the gaps.
![23.jpg](/proxy/?url=https://content.instructables.com/FLS/YQ2L/IR5MW9MT/FLSYQ2LIR5MW9MT.jpg&filename=23.jpg)
After all this sanding, it’s time for painting.
![24.jpg](/proxy/?url=https://content.instructables.com/F4C/EKZU/IR5MW9QH/F4CEKZUIR5MW9QH.jpg&filename=24.jpg)
I let them dry for one day...
![25.jpg](/proxy/?url=https://content.instructables.com/FRM/FYSO/IR5MW9SR/FRMFYSOIR5MW9SR.jpg&filename=25.jpg)
![26.jpg](/proxy/?url=https://content.instructables.com/FQU/2VZ4/IR5MW9TI/FQU2VZ4IR5MW9TI.jpg&filename=26.jpg)
... and then installed them on the big piece of melamine, on the wall.

For the try squares I measured the thickness of every piece and made these holders.

![45.jpg](/proxy/?url=https://content.instructables.com/FBA/DH0C/IR5MWAUD/FBADH0CIR5MWAUD.jpg&filename=45.jpg)
For the drill bits I measured the length of the base of every set and made this holder then I put the bases of the drill bits into the holder and placed it on the wall!

For the holesaws I took a piece of wood some dowels and I opened 45 degree holes, in order to keep the holesaws in place.
