Wacky Flier
I do not know if this plane is on the internet. I was taught by a fellow classmate how to make this when I was in grade school. I thought it was unique so it stuck with me over the years. This plane will not fly fast like an ESTES rocket but hopefully it will spark an interest in its wacky design.
Materials
-8.5" X 11" paper
-hands ready to fold
Fold in Half
Fold in half lengthwise, then unfold.
Fold Corners, Then Edges
Fold right corner to the center crease, then do the same for the left. Fold the newly created edges to the center crease, then unfold.
Fold, Then Inverse Fold
Fold along the last made crease then inverse fold the crease lined up with the middle to the outside. Do the same with the other side. You should end up with a square split down the middle.
Fold Square
Fold the square into a 45-90-45 triangle. Fold the point up along an imaginary line between the two points of the V shaped sides.
Fold Wings
Fold the leading edges of the wings to the bottom of the fuselage.
Making the Loop
Take the triangular sections and carefully curve the paper, then fit one into the pocket of the other.
Adjust and Finished
Make sure to bend the wings slightly upward away from body... and the Wacky Flier you have! Now strut your airplane and toss it at an upward angle with medium speed and... * "We have lift off" *
This plane flies 50+ feet
