WARNING WARNING DO AT YOUR OWN RISK:-) We use pine for our blades but there are better woods available. If you use Pine, seal with a water sealer then apply a clear gloss enamel spray. This basically waterproofs the blade and prevents UV sun damage. This untreated regular 2x4 blade is still in operation BECAUSE it is not "ground Contact" but seal the blades anyway.
