Vintage Inspired Tie Front Shirt:)

Pretty much all you need is an old shirt, a pair of scissors, cotton and a needle for this one! It's a great way to give something old a new look and is eco friendly too! :)
I did my sewing by hand, but if you prefer you can use a machine. Also you can make a vintage head tie from the fabric from the shirt sleeves! It's really easy and is inspired from the 50's, I hope you enjoy!

You Will Need...

You will need:
- Long sleeved shirt
- Fabric Scissors
- Matching cotton thread
- A needle (for hand stitching) / Sewing machine (for machine sewing)
- Pins
Cutting Sleeves...

Lay your shirt out flat and cut both sleeves off, roughly 1cm away from the sleeve seam.
Don't panic if the edges aren't all the exact same length - they won't be seen anyway.

Pin and Stitch...

Fold your 1cm extra of sleeve fabric underneath the original sleeve seam, and pin in place.
Stitch around the whole arm hole, using a machine or by hand. I found it easier to do by hand, using a prick-stitch, which is essentially a stitch you can barely see from the outside.

Tie Front...
Put on your shirt as normal then undo the bottom few buttons, and tie shirt edges in a knot.
Hair Tie...

Unpick the seam on both the cut off sleeves. Roll them both up, securing with a few stitches here and there, then pin the ends and stitch together.
