Gather Supplies...
You'll need:
- a ruler
- a pencil
- a scissor
- a hobby knife or other sharp knife
- an old book
- paperboard (carton)
There, thats it! We're ready to go!
Getting Your Book Ready.
Take your book and position the picture you intend to use on the front cover of your book. If your book has a title on its front page then you could maybe stick a title of your own over the original one, for example: My Family, My Pet, etc.
Trace a thin line around your picture using a pencil. If after cutting some lines remain you can just erase them.
Cut Out the 'space' in the Middle
Using the hobby knife and the ruler, cut out on the lines you made earlier.
Smoothen Edges.
The sides of the square space you have just cut might need some sandpapering.
Trace the Size of the Square Space on Some Paperboard & Cut It Out.
Be sure to cut the paperboard larger than the square space.
Placing Your Picture in the Frame.
Position your picture on the paperboard and place it in the frame with the picture facing outwards.
Tape It On.
If you decide to make a picture frame with one permanent picture in it, you can tape and even glue it together, (you should also glue the picture to the paperboard) but if you intend to switch pictures from time to time, then you can tape it only lightly like I did. That will enable you to slip it out and replace it with another picture.
You Are Done!
Place your chosen picture into the frame and display it!
Make Your Frame Hangable.
I made another frame and punched two holes into it. I then took some rope and pulled it through the holes and tied them at the other end making a loop.
Display Your Final Frames.
Well we're done, very easy wasn't it? Now you can enjoy a picture frame in a book, and that doesn't mean the book can't be read anymore. You can even give it as a gift to someone special, as a book he/she likes and as a picture frame.
