Vertical Plant Garden

This is a Vertical Flower Garden. It is not a typical Flower Garden as it is shaped like a pyramid. Also, There is a tube down the middle. Well, there are reasons for that. For Fertilization, Put some worms on the top level and let them find their ways down below using those holes. Pour Water down the Main tubing and see your plants grow with extreme care.

Supplies

Materials:

Cardboard

Cardboard Tube

Str

Tools:

Hot Glue Gun or Tape

Power Drill

Exacto/Box Knife

Ruler

Cutting Board

The Main Water Tubing Tunnel

Z_Step1.jpg

Get a long cardboard tube. Then cut it out to be 8 inches long(height). It should look like this after(See Picture). This will be used as the centerpiece so that you can pour water down it into the plants. If you would like, you can drill holes into the tubing now at the beginning, but I did it at a later step.

The Base of the Whole Project

Z_Step2.jpg

Cut out one of your pieces of cardboard to be 8-inch by 8-inch piece. It should be a square if you did it right. In the end, this will be the base of your finished product.

Attaching the Tunnel to the Base

Z_Step3.jpg

After you cut out the two separate pieces, glue them both together using hot glue or tape. It should stick together firmly as this is the main structure of the whole design. Make sure you attach the tube to the center of the base. You can do this by measuring the diameter of the tube and subtracting that number from 8. Then divide the difference of that by 2. Use that number by measuring it from the corner of that side. For example, if your diameter was 2, then subtract that from 8 to get 6. Then, you divide 6 by 2, and you get 3. So you measure 3-inches from each side on two sides to get to the center.

Making the "Wings"

Z_Step4.jpg

I wanted to call these "wings" because most people when they look at the finished result, think the product is a spaceship with these as wings. Cut out 4 "wings" using some more cardboard. They should have an angle of 40° each and the height should be 7.8 inches.

Making the "Official Rocket Ship"

Z_Step5.jpg

As you read in step 4, The triangles are called wings, but when you attach them to the rest of the build, it becomes a rocket ship. Use the four triangles, and glue them(Or tape them) to each corner, attaching them to the tubing as well.

Making the Small "Fins"

Z_Step6.jpg
Z_Step7.jpg

Next, you will be making the "Fins." These fins will be cut out(using cardboard) and you will have to drill holes into each of them. The size of the triangle is roughly 3 inches long, and 2 inches high. Make sure that you cut out a small curvature at the top of these to allow attachment to the tubing. They can be measured using the tubing itself if you have excess tubing as tubing may vary.

Attaching the Small "Fins"

Z_Step8.jpg

Once you cut these out and make holes in them, you can proceed to attach them with hot glue(or tape). Attach them roughly to where they meet with the edges of each side.

Making the Big Fins

Z_Step9.jpg

Next, we will be making the bigger version of the fins, you can make these easily(do I need to specify[with cardboard]) by cutting them at 2.5 inches tall. the bottom part of the trapezoid is 8 inches, and the top part is 6.5 inches.

Finishing the Ship

Z_Step10.jpg

(If you didn't already make holes in the main water tubing, I'd suggest doing so now. They can be random, just don't make them too big.)Lastly, Attach these four pieces to the bottom of the ship to create the final piece. It should be connected to each corner and side. Assuming the cutouts are accurate, they should line up perfectly. For Fertilization, Put some worms on the top level and let them find their ways down below using those holes. Pour Water down the Main tubing and see your plants grow with extreme care.
