Symptoms of Fault

Clutch pedal with excessive movement from left to right, clutch pedal feeling wobbly or loose

The Fault

The original clutch pedal pivot pin is made of weak plastic which deteriorates over time, causing the clutch pedal to experience excessive movement from left to right. The plastic can also easily snap. This part is not available to buy separately from Vauxhall, instead they will quote for an entire new pedal box at great expense.

Other replacement kits do not include replacement bushes which are also made of weak plastic and will also deteriorate over time, another contributing factor to excess movement on the clutch pedal.

The Solution

Install the improved design X8R clutch pivot pin to reduce excessive pedal movement, although please be aware that some side-to-side movement is necessary for the pedal to work correctly.

The X8R pivot pin is made from stainless steel and is guaranteed not to break, and will likely outlive the vehicle.

The X8R kit is unique and comes with self-lubricating brass bushes. The bushes are made to the exact specifications of the original bushes, but with a vastly improved material which will not deteriorate over time and contribute to excessive movement on the clutch pedal.

The X8R kit also includes a stainless steel washer, R pin and threadlock.
