Varene' Vino : Hot Spiced Wine
Here's a tasty and simple recipe for making hot spiced wine. Courtesy of my mother-in-law. She grew up drinking this on the ski slopes in Slovakia.
Quick and easy, when finished tastes similar to hot cider. Enjoy!

Ingredients
White wine, 3 cups (~720ml). Inexpensive wine is perfect, you'll create the flavor by adding the spices.
Water, 1 cup (~240ml).
Sugar, 1/4 cup (~60ml).
Vanilla Extract, 1 teaspoon (~5ml).
Cinnamon, 1 stick.
Cloves, whole, 5.

Extract the Spice Essence
Combine the water + sugar + vanilla + cinnamon + cloves in a saucepan and bring to a slow boil.
Gently boil for 2 minutes to draw the spice's flavor and dissolve the sugar.

Heat the Wine
Next, pour in the wine and quickly bring to boil. Immediately remove from heat. The goal is to just heat the wine. Further boiling will evaporate off the alcohol.
Cheers
Pour into mugs and enjoy while hot.
The spiced wine holds heat moderately. With care you can store in a good thermos for several hours. Long enough for a few runs.
