Vanilla Bourbon Snow Ice Cream
Next time there's a forecast for snow in your neck of the woods, make sure you stock up on bread, milk and supplies for your own homemade ice cream! No ice cream maker needed! I'll show you how to make homemade vanilla bourbon snow ice cream, but you can be creative and come up with your own flavors.
Vanilla Bourbon Snow Ice Cream: Gather Snow
Gather fresh snow. We started with about four quarts.
Vanilla Bourbon Snow Ice Cream: Mix Ingredients
Next, mix together your ingredients:
-Two eggs, beaten
-2 cups milk
-1 1/2 cup sugar
-3 tablespoons vanilla
-Splash of bourbon
This is where you can be creative, you can add in cocoa powder to make chocolate snow ice cream. Or maybe a flavored vodka instead of bourbon. We also made a chocolate/cherry vodka version. Amazing!
If you are weary of eating raw eggs, don't worry! You can substitute egg beaters instead. However, as long as you keep your milk and eggs (and of course snow) cold and don't cross contaminate. When you beat eggs and sugar together, it chemically "cooks" the eggs, killing any sort of bacteria that may be present.
