Vacuum Cleaner From a Bucket and a Pool Filter Cartridge

2022_08_25 09_28_24.jpg

This is a nice small vacuum Cleaner to be used in Woodworking areas and workshops. It is easy to clean and doesn't need a frequent replaced part like a filter bag.

CAUTION!

Working on Electrical mains power can kill you! Please do it only if you allowed to do this or let the electrical part doing a Electrician!

Keep in mind, that the motor cannot be 100% covered, so if you put your finger deep into the holes of the Motor, you take a risk of electric shock even if the Switch is OFF! So don't do this and keep it away from Child's!

Make Parts

Make all the wooden parts from the attached DXF file, I used a CNC router but with some woodworking experience it is possible without I guess. Only the gap for the motor rim on the main plate could be a bit difficult, maybe using a Dremel..?

Assemble

Cut a round hole into the bucked cover and mount the big round wooden plate onto it using small wood screws and some seal tape.

Put the DN40 pipe in and mount the Filter cartridge and Motor with M4 and M5 thread rods

Connect

3d print the box+cover for the cpeed controller.

install the controller into the box and connect the power cord and motor.

Note;

The cleaner will work without the controller as well, but the power of the motor will let the bucked implode, so you need to reduce the power!

To prevent this you could put 2 buckets into each other and use a bigger inlet tube..

Safety Covers

cover the motor brushes with shrink selves and glue the wooden covers (from the dxf file) over it as shown in the main picture.

Secure the mains cable with a cable clamp on the main plate.

Connect Tube

You can use a tube which fits into the DN40 pipe, I used a 29mm tube by using the Attached adapter..
