Circuit Diagram
![20191018_001003.jpg](/proxy/?url=https://content.instructables.com/FJZ/3TP8/K1S5MTL1/FJZ3TP8K1S5MTL1.jpg&filename=20191018_001003.jpg)
This is the circuit diagram of this VU Meter.
Connect all components according to this circuit diagram.
Connect LEDs
![20191017_234451.jpg](/proxy/?url=https://content.instructables.com/FBJ/6DAF/K1UTY9W5/FBJ6DAFK1UTY9W5.jpg&filename=20191017_234451.jpg)
Firstly we have to Put all LEDs to the PCB as you want color of LEDs.
+ve legs of LEDs should be upper side and -ve legs should be in the downward side.
Put IC Base
![20191017_234502.jpg](/proxy/?url=https://content.instructables.com/FJD/VYA0/K1UTY9W6/FJDVYA0K1UTY9W6.jpg&filename=20191017_234502.jpg)
Next we have to put IC Base to the PCB as you can see in the picture.
Solder Pins of IC Base and LEDs
![20191017_234520.jpg](/proxy/?url=https://content.instructables.com/F3O/8AGE/K1UTY9W7/F3O8AGEK1UTY9W7.jpg&filename=20191017_234520.jpg)
Next solder +ve legs of all LEDs to each other and
Solder All Pins of IC Base and -ve legs as you can see in the picture.
Connect -ve Legs of LEDs
![20191017_234550.jpg](/proxy/?url=https://content.instructables.com/FTR/GRPP/K1UTY9W9/FTRGRPPK1UTY9W9.jpg&filename=20191017_234550.jpg)
Next Connect -ve Legs of LEDs to the IC base as given in the circuit diagram.
Solder -ve leg of LED-1 to Pin-1 of the IC,
Solder -ve leg of LED-2 to Pin-18 of the IC,
Solder -ve leg of LED-3 to Pin-17 of the IC,
Solder -ve leg of LED-4 to Pin-16 of the IC,
Solder -ve leg of LED-5 to Pin-15 of the IC,
Solder -ve leg of LED-6 to Pin-14 of the IC,
Solder -ve leg of LED-7 to Pin-13 of the IC,
Solder -ve leg of LED-8 to Pin-12 of the IC,
Solder -ve leg of LED-9 to Pin-11 of the IC and
Solder -ve leg of LED-10 to Pin-10 of the IC as you can see in the picture.
Short Pin-6 and Pin-7 of the IC
![20191017_234539.jpg](/proxy/?url=https://content.instructables.com/FVI/CWQ2/K1UTY9W8/FVICWQ2K1UTY9W8.jpg&filename=20191017_234539.jpg)
Connect 1K Resistor
![20191017_234609.jpg](/proxy/?url=https://content.instructables.com/FEI/ITYP/K1UTY9WA/FEIITYPK1UTY9WA.jpg&filename=20191017_234609.jpg)
Next connect 1K Resistor to the circuit.
Solder 1K Resistor Between Pin-7 to Pin-8 of the IC as you can see in the picture.
Put Preset to the PCB
![20191017_234625.jpg](/proxy/?url=https://content.instructables.com/F97/NK3U/K1UTY9WB/F97NK3UK1UTY9WB.jpg&filename=20191017_234625.jpg)
Sort Pin-2 and Pin4
![20191017_234650.jpg](/proxy/?url=https://content.instructables.com/FSO/MI4F/K1UTY9WE/FSOMI4FK1UTY9WE.jpg&filename=20191017_234650.jpg)
Solder Pin-2 to Pin-4 and with 10K Preset as given in the circuit diagram.
Short Pin-3 and Pin-9
![20191017_234712.jpg](/proxy/?url=https://content.instructables.com/FHU/KTCM/K1UTY9WF/FHUKTCMK1UTY9WF.jpg&filename=20191017_234712.jpg)
Next short pin-3 and Pin-9 and solder a wire from Pin-9 to +ve of LEDs as solder in the picture.
Connect Battery Clipper Wire
![20191017_234731.jpg](/proxy/?url=https://content.instructables.com/F1C/M9RR/K1UTY9WG/F1CM9RRK1UTY9WG.jpg&filename=20191017_234731.jpg)
Next solder battery clipper wire to the PCB.
Solder +ve wire of battery clipper to +ve Pin of LEDs/Pin-3,9 of IC and -ve wire to Pin-2 of the IC as given in the circuit diagram.
Connect Aux Cable Wires
![20191017_234750.jpg](/proxy/?url=https://content.instructables.com/FN9/WKPD/K1UTY9WJ/FN9WKPDK1UTY9WJ.jpg&filename=20191017_234750.jpg)
Now we can give audio input using amplifier/aux cable... to this circuit.
{Here I an giving with the aux cable}
Solder +ve wire of aux cable to the Pin-5 of the IC and -ve wire to the Pin-2,4 of the IC as you can see in the circuit diagram.
How to Use This VU Meter

![20191017_234840.jpg](/proxy/?url=https://content.instructables.com/FIW/2EYP/K1UTY9WL/FIW2EYPK1UTY9WL.jpg&filename=20191017_234840.jpg)
Connect Battery to the circuit and Plug-in aux cable to Mobile phone and play songs.
As audio level will be of the song like that LEDs will glow.
Thank you
