Using Structure Blocks

Do you want to make a village of identical houses? Or do you want to have a generated nether or end structure in the overworld, without having to build it again block-by-block? This guide is for you! You can use structure blocks to save, load, and even export your structures! Please note that this is for Bedrock edition; not Java edition.

Place a Structure Block Next to Your Structure

Start by typing in chat the following message:

/give @s structure_block 1

Place a structure block next to the structure you want to copy. For this guide, I used a small generated nether structure: the nether fossil. So, simply place a structure block by your structure. It's okay if the bounding box isn't covering your full structure; we'll take care of that later.

Save Mode

Right click on the structure block. You should start with save mode, as you use it to save your structure. It's not hard at all. Follow these steps to learn how:

  1. Part of your structure will likely be cut off, as the default structure size is 5x5x5. For that reason, change the size until your whole structure is shown on the preview of your structure. For my nether fossil, I did 10x10x10.
  2. If you want mobs included in your structure, turn on the "Include Entities" function.
  3. Name your structure. I named mine "Nether Fossil".
  4. Click "Save". Your structure is now saved!

Loading the Structure

Now time to load the structure:

  1. Place a structure block wherever you want to load the structure. Right-click it.
  2. Select "Load Mode" from the drop-down list.
  3. Type in the name of your structure and click "Load".
  4. Your structure should now appear next to the structure block! It is now safe to break the structure block.

3D Exporting

You can export your structures so you can load them whenever you want:

  1. Instead of "Save Mode", select "3D Export".
  2. Click "Export".
  3. File Explorer will now open. Type in the name of your structure in the "Save As" box.
  4. Your structure is now exported! Now you can load it any time!
