Using Photopea to Photoshop an Image
.png)
In this Instructables tutorial, you will learn how to photoshop and merge two images using a website called Photopea. Before I begin showing you how to do this, please go to the search bar in your internet browser, and type "photopea.com". This URL will navigate you to the website we will be using. The format that I will be using is 11 inches (width) by 8.5 inches (height), but feel free to choose whatever format size you desire for your image. Without further ado, let's begin!
Supplies
Below, you will see that I have included all of the tools that I used in the making of this project. Take the time to familiarize yourself with the locations and purposes of these tools, as well as how each of them works.
1. Eraser Tool
2. Spot Healing Brush Tool
3. Gaussian Blur
4. Brightness/Contrast
5. Hue/Saturation
6. Refine Edge
7. Auto Color
8. Rectangle Select
9. Brush Tool
10. Eyedropper
Find a Background and Upload It to Photopea.

So far, you should just have a blank template opened and ready to go. Now, open a new tab on your computer and find a background. I found mine by searching "lavender field". Once you have found one that you like, right-click on the image and copy it. Switch to the tap with your Photopea template and hold ctrl+v on the keyboard to paste your image onto the template. Tap on the move tool and click on "Transform controls" at the top of the screen. You should be able to adjust the size of your background.
Find an Image and Upload It to Photopea.

This step will be similar to Step 1. Open a new tab, and search for the image that will be your focal point. For example, a person or animal. Copy the image by right-clicking on it, as we did in Step 1. Go back to the tab with Photopea, and paste the image over the background (ctrl+v). The transform controls should still be there. Now, adjust the size of the image to fit over the background.
Crop the Size of Your Image.

Tip: Make sure that you have selected the layer with the person and not the background.
First, select the eraser tool. If you are having trouble finding the eraser tool, there is a magnifying glass, next to the word "Account", where you can search for any tool. Now that you have the eraser tool, erase as much of the outside as possible. Your goal is to have only the person in the end. Next, tap "Select" at the top of the page, and then tap "Refine Edge". Now, you are ready for Step 4.
Use the Refine Edge.

Select the white box at the top of the page, and select the size brush you would like to use. I am using a size 40 brush. Draw on the part of the image you would like to keep. When you are finished it should look similar to the first image above. To eliminate any unwanted parts from the person's background that got caught in the image, select the black box (the one next to the hand tool). Now, trace around the person until the background is completely gone. When you are done, press "Okay".
Add Filters to the Background.

Near the top of the page, you should see a button labeled, "Filter". Tap on it. It will open a list of different filters, such as 3D, Blur, Distort, etc. In this tutorial, however, we will just be using the Blur. Tap on Blur, and it will show you different types of Blurs. Tap on the one that says, "Gaussian Blur". A box will pop-up that says Gaussian Blur, with an adjust tool under it. Now, drag the adjust tool left and right.
Change the Brightness & Contrast.

Select Layer 2 (the layer with the person). Once you've done that, click on "Image" at the top of the page. Then, click on "Adjustments". Then, "Brightness/Contrast". A box will show up again, similar to when we added the Gaussian Blur earlier. Adjust the brightness and contrast of the person in the image by sliding the blue bars left or right. Once you have a brightness and contrast that you like, press "Okay".
Change the Hue & Saturation.

First, select the layer that has your background. It should be Layer 1 (layer with the lavender field). Now that you have Layer 1 chosen, you can adjust the hue and saturation of it, without changing the person's hue and saturation. Tap on "Image", at the top of the page. Then click, "Adjustments". Then find "Hue/Saturation", and tap on it. Now, adjust it however you would like. If you want a shortcut, just hold "ctrl+u".
Add the Finishing Touches.

Add whatever else you would like. Maybe another filter, or maybe add some cool effects to your image. When you're image is complete, right-click on the layer with the person (Layer 2), and tap on "Merge Down". Use the Spot Healing Brush Tool to fill in any pieces of the previous background. You can save your work by going to "File", and either saving it as a PSD or exporting it.
