Hello, I hope you are having a nice day. This instructable will instruct you on how to build/design the upgraded kitchen knife shown above.

Most kitchen knives are already pretty decent, but most aren't good for peeling. The purpose of this upgraded version is to solve that problem. This design has a blade and a vegetable peeler attachment for peeling and slicing.

Supplies

1.- Blade (needs to be fit for the peeler attachment)

2.- Handle (wood)

3.- Peeler attachment

4.- 3 rivets for the handle

5.- 3 rivets for the peeler

6.- Drill

7.- Epoxy

Design Your Knife

First, you will need to make a design for your knife. For this design we will be using rivets and epoxy to hold the knife together you can use whatever blade design you like as long as the blade has holes that match the ones on the vegetable peeler. Later in the design we will use these holes to attach the blade to the peeler using rivets

Drilling the Holes

Take your wooden handle and use the drill to drill the holes for the rivets make sure the holes on the handle match the holes on the blade so that the rivets the rivets can properly fit into the holes.

Attaching the Blade to the Handle

Now that you have drilled your holes for the handle take the epoxy and spread it inside the holes of both the blade and the handle then line up the holes of the blade with the holes of the handle and use the rivets to attach the handle to the blade.

Attaching the Peeler

Now you will attach the peeler to the blade. you can 3d print the frame for the peeler, attach the blade, make the frame out of wood, and then attach the blade. once you have the peeler make sure the holes on the frame of the peeler match the holes the blade has on the spine of the blade. you will use rivets to put the peeler and the blade together make sure the rivets fit the holes and then use epoxy so that the rivets stay in place and keep the blade and the peeler together.
