Update Bathroom With Some Paint
Hello everyone,
In this indestructible i will explain the steps necessary to update your bathroom with just a little bit of paint. We moved into this house about a month ago now, and it was built in the 1950s. The house has stayed in the 1950s, not that it was a bad year or anything but, it needed something different the awful yellowing wall paper in the bathroom. So all my girlfriend wanted for the holidays this year was for me to paint the bathroom. I figured easy way out for me no problem. She's tough to buy for anyway so this works haha. As you can see in the photos above, and the ones throughout, that the color choices are quite vibrant. We wanted to just dull it down a bit without spending a ton of money on new paint. We had a few choices of paint from our previous apartment and the paint, that we painted the rest of the house with. We chose this grayish color to neutralize the rest of the room, hope she likes it she is not home yet. Ill post later tonight how it went.

Start Painting
So, i have to explain, I am not a painter by any stretch of the means, so effects may vary with what you decide to do if you follow my steps. I had removed the wall paper in the hallway when we moved in due to it failing. The paper on the bathroom walls looked okay and was a flat color, we plan on redoing the bathroom eventually, so this didn't need to be perfect just different. So i started by painting the ceiling with some white ceiling paint that i had left over from the rest of the house. i used a 3/4in nap roller to paint it and to try and fill any defects in the ceiling. The way i choose to paint is to roll it out and then go back and cut it after. i know this probably isn't the best way to do it but I like it, get the big easy stuff out of the way and do the harder part later.
Paint Walls
I then painted the walls. For this I also used a 3/4in nap roller but i used a four in roller, this was to get in to the tighter spots above the door and shower. I then cut everything in with a brush, then let it dry.
2nd Coat
I painted both the ceiling and walls with a second coat. I didn't really have to, but i figured i might as well take the extra step and make it look somewhat nice. I let it dry and hung the shower curtains and plug outlets back up, and we are good to go.
