Uovo Sbattuto

This is an old Italian recipe that my mother was taught by her mother, who was born in Sicily. I remember her making it when I was a child....I thought it was so cool to be able to have coffee! In preparation for this Instructable I looked for the spelling and recipe. The online version is not at all like what my grandmother and mother made.

Supplies

egg, milk, sugar, bread/toast, mixer, instant coffee or cinnamon

Whip the Egg and Sugar

My mom always used a hand crank beater, which kept us kids occupied! But for my Instructable, I used a electric mixer. You want to beat the egg/sugar mixture until very frothy.

Boil Your Milk

The milk should be on the stove at low to medium temperature. The goal is to scald but not burn it.

Toast Your Bread

Self explanatory really, you need to toast your bread and butter it.

Pour Milk and Sprinkle Cinnamon or Coffee

Lastly pour the milk into the egg mixture and wait a moment, then add a little bit of cinnamon or instant coffee on the top.

Enjoy

Dip your toast into the mixture and enjoy.
