SUMMARY OF OUR SOLUTION

Our unique design precision engineered billet aluminium wedge is designed to fit perfectly within the runner of a van door. Our wedge allows the door to be opened and secured in your position of choice without having to purchase more expensive hinge systems.

Unique to our design the underside of our Van Door Stop Ramp is machined with a diamond knurled finish to ensure a good grip between the runner and the ramp, the perfect solution for the best bond.

Full kit including high quality Loctite branded Epoxy adhesive and emery paper for preparing the runner surface.

Deep dished design for good security of the roller. High grade anodized aluminium for life long use.

If you require multiple stop points you can install multiple wedges.

Prepare the Area and Mark the Position

Firstly, clean the general area to make it easier to work on.

Position the sliding door in the exact position that you would like the door stop to be placed, and make a marking on a surface in line with the roller on the door assembly, this is where you will be gluing the Van Door Stop Ramp in place.

Clean and Prepare the Area

Now that you have decided where you would like the Van Door Stop ramp, you can clean the area of any debris as this will cause the epoxy glue to not stick properly and potentially become loose over time.

Use the emery cloth provided to prepare the surface of the area that you are going to be sticking the ramp to, this will help to create a strong bond that will not break when the roller repeatedly passes over it.

Prepare the Epoxy Glue

Once the area is clean and ready for the ramp to be stuck down, You can prepare the 2-part epoxy.

In order to mix the epoxy, empty all of the contents from the yellow sachet onto the mixing pallet and mix both parts together, the mixture will become a whitish color when it is ready to be used.

Once the epoxy is ready, spread an even layer over the underside of the Van Door Stop Ramp.

You should not have to rush this as it does take a few minutes before the glue begins to set.

If you happen to accidentally spill any of the epoxy, you should be able to remove this using a ketone based cleaner.

Installing the Ramp

Now that there is an even spread of epoxy on the underside of the ramp, you are ready to stick it down in place.

When installing the ramp, it is important to install it directly in line with where the roller would usually pass over, this is to make sure that the whole width of the ramp is being used instead of just one side which would lead to premature wear of the roller.

Allow Epoxy to Harden

Now that the ramp is in its correct position, it is important to allow some time for the epoxy to fully set before regular use of the sliding door is resumed.

We use Double Bubble epoxy which is a rapid setting adhesive, this will only take approximately 5 minutes to harden, it is very important that the ramp is not disturbed during this time as it may result in the bond weakening and potentially failing.
