If you are looking to try a new style, this one is a cute and unique type of braid. Although it's called a braid, it isn't braided in the typical way. A series of little ponytails creates this unique look. There are a variety of styles you can create with this, and it's super easy to achieve. In addition to the pictures, I've uploaded a video as well, since it's probably easier to understand it by seeing it created.

The only things you need to achieve this look are: little elastic hair bands, a clip or claw (to temporarily move hair away) and a comb or brush. It doesn't matter if you have short hair, as long as you can pull it up into a ponytail.

Starting the Puff Pull-Through Braid

In the first part of creating this look, you will need to gather a small amount of hair into a ponytail. I think if you place the ponytail a bit higher up, it looks better. Then, create a second small ponytail after that.

Once you have the two ponytails, then take the top (first) one and split it down the middle into two sections. Pull the sections open a bit, and grab ahold of the second ponytail. Take the second ponytail up through the middle of the two sections from the first ponytail, and temporarily clip it off to the side or out of the way.

Once the second section of hair is moved out of the way, you are left with the two split pieces (from the top first chunk of hair) hanging there. Now, gather a new section of hair for the next ponytail. When you gather hair for this ponytail, in addition to the hair you gather, you will also include the split hair that's hanging down into the new ponytail. Once that new ponytail is created and secured with an elastic, you can then unclip the hair that's moved out of the way and let it hang down.

Next, you will take the new top ponytail and separate it into two sections. You will then take the ponytail underneath it and pull it up through it and clip it to the side. You will basically repeat the process.

Continue the Look

Keep creating as many or as few sections of hair as you like, to complete the look. I like how it looks in the first picture, stopping the look at the base of the hair. But, I decided to continuing the look downwards. It gets a bit harder once you continue the look to the end of your hair. Please be sure to use the clip, rather than temporarily holding a chunk of hair in your mouth! :) I did this one time, and the whole braid became crooked at that spot where I had pulled a piece of hair and put it in my mouth to hold it. So, try to avoid that, and you will be fine.

Puffing It Out

Lastly, when you are happy with the length of the look, you can tie it
off. Then, start at the top and carefully pull the hair apart to create a thicker puff to each ponytail. I like to pull close to the elastic band as well. If you prefer the look without pulling it or puffing it out, that is great too. This is a unique style with a variety of ways to finish it off. That's all!

I hope you enjoyed this little Instructable. Please let me know if you have any questions! And, if you create this look, please share us a picture in the comments area. :) Thanks!
