Originally are under stairs space. Was a door going into the hallway to access the hire part of the stairs and then just open space to the lounge? On the last bit of the stairs we decided to change this. We didn't want to see any doors with frames so we went for the same colour as the walls.

Supplies

Screws, paint, bored, wood and eight large rubber wheels.

Measuring the Space

There's not loads of photos of me assembling this project as I only thought to start taking photos as I was best part way through. Apart from the spacer pieces I measured and got the timber merchant cut all the wood to the size, this saved a lot of time and allow me to have a lot more precise cuts. The three doors I got the angles by my wife holding up the boards and I marked them from the inside.

Final Touches

The larger storage cupboard under the stairs I used hinges that are similar to those of kitchen cupboards and also when you push the door there was a pneumatic latch that would open the door a couple of inches so you could continue opening with your hand. This negated the need of a handle.

Adding Wheels

Before adding the outside boards I had to install the large wheels. I used ones with a rubber outer so they would not mark the laminate floor. With the wheels on, I could determine the height that the outer boards would need to be off of the floor so that they cleared when the wheeled unit was moved.
