Unclog a Sink Drain

My bathroom sink was recently clogged and I really needed to unclog without having to run out to the store to buy some Drano.

Instead I used this clever hack and found some great results

Boil Water

I started by boiling about one gallon of water on the stove

Add Baking Soda

Once the water was boiling I threw about 1/2 cup of baking soda down the clogged drain.

Then I dumped about 2 cups of the gallon of boiling water down the drain.

(for small clogs just baking soda and water will solve the issue. For bigger clogs continue reading)

Add Vinegar

Since my sink was still clogged I had to go for the big guns.

I dumped about 1/2 cup of vinegar down the sink. Then I quickly covered the opening of the sink with a cup to keep the reaction of baking soda and vinegar from exploding into the sink.

After the fizzing went down, I poured the rest of the still boiling water down the sink, clearing up the clog.
