Unboxing the Black Box: a Modular Scenography Maquette
The Black Box is a modular system that allows scenography designers to build a theatre space at varied spatial configurations and scales. The frame is assembled from modular corners and tracks that support the walls and floor, holding the maquette together without adhesives. This allows designers to use less rigid materials like cardboard, paper, and other alternatives to foam core to create the box in their frame. The Black box can be disassembled easily and the walls and floors can be stored flat after the project is completed.
