Udon Noodles With Ground Pork
Hi, my name is Caitlyn Wilson! Today, I made udon noodles, which are a type of Japanese noodle. They are absolutely delicious, and require only little cooking, but you can add different ingredients to make them have more flavor. I added ground pork, bok choi (a type of vegetable), onions, and mushrooms.
If you’d like to try making this simple one-pot meal, then just follow these instructions!
For extra information; The total time it should take to make this Main Course is about 20 minutes. It is an Asian, Japanese cuisine, and serves 4. Also this meal is 344kcal.
Supplies
Meal ingredients
- four packs udon noodles
- 3 cups mushrooms sliced
- 3 baby bok choy
- 1/2 white onion chopped
- 4 stalks scallions
- 1lb ground pork
Udon noodle sauce
- 2 tablespoons of sesame oil
- 5 tablespoons soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons mirin
- 4 teaspoons brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon white rice vinegar
Make the Sauce
To start off, Mix all the ingredients for the sauce in a bowl. Once everything else is cooked and prepared, the sauce will top it all off with its tart taste, and mouth watering flavor.
Preparing the Onions and Mushrooms
When it comes to delicious flavor and beautiful colors, you can count on the mushrooms and onions. To start this next step, peel the top coal off of your white onion. Once peeled, cut the onion into tiny pieces. Put the chopped onion into a medium sized bowl and set aside. Take the mushrooms out of the package, and wash them thoroughly. Next, slice the mushrooms, and chop off the bottoms. Place these in the bowl currently holding the onions. Lastly, add some salt and pepper for extra flavor.
Cutting the Bok Choy and Scallions
Bok choy is a type of Asian lettuce, so it is perfect for this meal! To start, wash all of your bok choy. After washing, chop the bok choy evenly. Now take your scallions and cut those until are sliced fine. Place both of those greens into a bowl and set aside with the mushrooms and onions.
Cook the Udon Noodles
Remove your noodles from its package and add it to a the one and only pot that you will be using. First pour some olive oil into the pan, then add water. The frozen noodles can be added directly to the pot of boiling water with a tad of olive oil. Stir gently until your udon noodles are separated and pliable. This should take only a few minutes. Avoid over cooking them, as they will get too soft. Then place them in a strainer, and you don’t have to wash out the pan that you had currently used.
Cooking the Stir Fry
Heat your pan over high heat and add a little bit more olive oil to the pan. Add in the ground meat and stir fry for one minute before adding the rest of your vegetables. Stir fry together for one minute and then add in the noodles and sauce. Mix this well. Now mix your vegetables once the noodles sauce and fry are well mixed. You will see tons of beautiful colors, and smell wonderful flavors.
Serve this dish immediately for best flavor and texture.
