i used a usb cable i had that was shorting and not a new one for this instructable.

tools needed:

scissors

sharp knife

solder iron

electrical shrink tube

if u have a female to female adapter all u have to do is make the usb cable shorter an not change the end.

first i cut off the male end of the usb to the length i needed then connect the wires using the link / instructions in my intro.

i then plugged it into a samsung s3 an the phone recognized it as a mass storage device which means all wires was soldered to their correct terminals.

Securing the Wires

once all wires were soldered correctly i then used hot glue to insulate the wires from shorting on each other then used electrical shrink tubing to further insulate and make the cable look appealing.

the female to female adapter and a flash drive were all put together then connected to the phone.

the phone recognises and can open and transfer files using the OTG cable made from a old usb cable.
