USB Cam Inspection Lamp

I was in need of an inspection lamp to find a water leak within the false roof of my house and after putting an old web cam on the end of a stick I needed some light so I decided to make this:

Parts Needed

1 usb cam

1 china LED lamp

1 plastic card (credit card type)

some hard wire and cables

Two 7.2v batteries

Getting the LED Strips From the Bulb

By popping the top of the bulb I then un-soldered the four LED stips I needed

I then stuck the strips to a plastic card cutout and wired them in parallel so they each received the 14.4v.

I used the wires to attach this to the USB lamp.

With two 7.2v batteries from my remote control cars connected in series I powered up the lights with the needed 14.4v.

At last I had a super bright inspection lamp that I connected to my laptop and could find the water leak.
