Twisted Metal Wrist Band.

This is an instructable on how to make a metal wrist band out of wire. The materials I used are:

1. Wire. I used 14 gauge but you could also use something smaller.
2. A drill.
3. A heavy hammer.
4. Wire cutting pliers.
5. Anvil or hard metal surface.
6. Vice grips.
7. Lead free solder.
8. Blow torch. I used a small culinary blow torch on low heat so I didn't melt the wire, but as long as your careful you could use a full size blowtorch.
9. An adjustable wrench.
10. Sandpaper or a file.

Cut two pieces of 14 to 16 gauge wire 21 inches long for a medium sized wrist. I used silver wire but you could use copper wire also, or you could use one of each. Bend them in half and make sure that they are straight and not kinked.

Now we need to twist the wire. I used an adjustable wrench in a vice to do this but you can use any straight stuff object. Put the looped ends of the wire around the wrench and make sure they're not tangled. Now put them into the chuck of your drill (you can also use pliers or vice grips) and tighten it while making sure not to twist or tangle the pieces. Then twist it slowly until it's tight.

Now you can cut off the loop in the end of the twisted wire. If the other end looks messy then cut that off too. Now go to an anvil or a large heavy piece of metal and use a hammer to flatten the twisted wire. You can hold on to the other end with the vice grips. Make sure that the wire is a uniform thickness when you're finished.

Now use some pliers to pinch together the ends. Then take some lead free solder and wrap it around the last 1/4 inch of each end. Now take a blowtorch on low heat and carefully melt the solder on the ends until it melts in between the wires. Then use sandpaper or a file to round the end. You can use some steel wool to make the bracelet more shiny too!

Now find something round about the size of you rist to bend the bracelet around. I used the horn of my anvil. The great thing about this bracelet is that you can resize it super easily once you've finished.
