Turtle Brownie Boats
For this recipe, you'll need a box mix of your favorite brownies, caramel syrup (like for ice cream sundaes) and any additional toppings (I like to add pecans!)
You'll also need a brownie pan and boat press set. I got mine from Pampered Chef. These are a MUST if you want to make individual brownies and keep your sauce contained!
Supplies
- Brownie Mix (Aldi's Chewy Brownie Mix is my favorite!)
- Caramel Sauce - found with the Ice Cream
- Optional Toppings - Pecans, other nuts of your choice
Prepare the Mix
Prepare the mix according to the instructions on the box. Don't forget to preheat your oven. I like to use a whisk to make sure everything gets blended in nicely!
Portion Out Brownies
I like to use my batter scoop (found at Aldi, but you can get one here) to transfer the mix to each individual section.
Bake
Bake according to the instructions on the box. Times will vary, but you want to watch and make sure to take them out when they appear done. Its okay if they are a little soft still. Because of the individual sections, your brownies will bake faster so stick to the lower number on the time range.
Wait.....Press....Cool
After you remove the brownies from the oven, let them sit for 5 minutes to cool. This is the MOST important step to create the boats correctly. If you use the press too soon, the brownies will stick to the press.
After 5 minutes, press the boat press into each compartment. The press is designed to stop at a specific depth, so don't worry about pressing too far down.
After pressing, allow to cool in the pan another 10 minutes. Remove and place on a cooling rack until cool.
Fill
Once cooled, add your filling (caramel sauce) and toppings!
ENJOY!
This is the best part! Enjoy the fruits (or brownies) of your labor! Go ahead and have two...you've earned it!
