Make Cake Batter

The first step that is needed to make this cake is, of course making the cake batter!

First, get the box of cake batter and read the directions and supplies that you have to follow on the back of the box. Once you get all of the needed ingredients you can start making the batter. Double check the box so you know how much ingredients you have to put into the batter.(eggs,milk,etc.) Start putting in the dry ingredients first. Then, add the wet ingredients. At this time I suggest that you preheat the oven to 350 degrees so,by the time you are one making the batter the oven will already be preheated. When all of the ingredients have been added to the batter start mixing. Once you have completed mixing the batter pour it into a cake pan.(rounded) The oven should be preheated by now, so put the batter into the oven for about 20-30 minutes. When you have finished everything in this step you can move on to the next one.

Mold the Chocolate and Sculpt Cake

While the cake is in the oven I advise that you should start making the feathers. In order to make the feather, you need to melt a bag of chocolate and put into a mold. once you have all of the molds filled, put the chocolate in the freezer to harden. Once the cakes are done cooking you put them in the freezer to cool too. When the cakes are done cooling, you can shape the cakes to look rounded. Once the cake is rounded, it's time to make the turkey's neck and head. You can use one of the pieces of the cake you shaved off as the head, connect the head by putting icing on the back. Then proceed to cover the head and neck with icing.

Put on Icing and Décor

After all the icing is applied, you can start putting M&M's on there for color. If you are confused on when the chocolate comes into play, they resemble they feathers. On the bottom's of the feathers, you put icing on there so it can help the chocolate stick on the cake better. When you are done putting the feathers on, you can start with the turkey's face. In order to do that, you add white icing to the cake any where you want, the white icing is the whites of the eyes. Then you can use chocolate icing that you have left to make the pupil. Once the eye's are done, the Twizzlers come into play. You use the Twizzlers as the turkey wattle. For the turkeys beak you can use candy corn. OPTIONAL: If you want more detail to the turkey you can crush up some Oreo's and apply it to the cake to make it look like the turkey has dirt on it. Once you decide you are done with the décor, the last step is to... eat it!! Enjoy your turkey cake!
