Turbocharger Jet Engine

Put simply “Jet engines create forward thrust by taking in a large amount of air and discharging it as a high-speed jet of gas”. The most common type of jet engine is a gas turbine, which uses a compressor to take in air, squish it, and turn it into a high-pressure gas. From this the fuel is injected and the gas is ignited. This flaming gas then goes through another turbine to decrease the energy. The turbine draws the gas through the engine to the nozzle where in exchange for pressure, velocity is increased greatly.

3D Print the Parts and Assemble the Intake

Once you have 3D printed the parts to construct the intake you will need a sealed bearing and motor to drive the impeller.

Materials:

1x Bearing

1x Motor (12v)

Create Circuit for Starting/Controlling the Engine

2x Batteries (12v and 3v-6v)

1x Push switch

1x Sparkplug

1x Motor(12v)

1x Resistor

1x Potentiometer (Rheostat)

1x DC to DC step up transformer

Or alternatively (The other two smaller images):

1x Inductor (for DC to DC step up)

Put Everything Together

Before you start the engine you should add some things for more safety:

1. Propane flashback valves

2. Mesh to cover the inlet

Start the Jet Engine
