Tumbleweed Trailor Loft Home

My name is Kirsten Jaust and I've created a tiny loft home design on wheels. The house incorporates several unique features with a Tumbleweed trailer. This modern design style on the trailer with the siding gives off a cozy, and rustic feel to the house. It contains a bedroom loft as an added bonus to this architectural design. Before starting the "Make it Small" contest the main goal was to create and design something tiny that can impact space. The thought of a trailer was how I would start creating and come up with ideas. With a trailer it can impact space from the size of the trailer, keeping the trailer small was helpful for when I design the house.

Step 1: This "Make it Small" design contest challenge was to find a way I could make a small, innovative, and sustainable architectural design by finding ways to take up a large space.

Step 2: I had the idea of a cabin trailer house, I did some research of the trailer to see what size it could be while it is still suitable for the space inside. I researched references on google for a log cabin. I decided to make a loft that can be on a trailer so that it can be traveled anywhere. This helps making the inside limit space while still being accessible. It has great features making it feel like a cozy comfortable place.

Step 3: After doing research, that's when I got the idea of a trailer home on wheels. Drawing a sketch would help get a more clear image of my design. One idea of my was a staircase leading to a rooftop loft. This was still part of my build, instead of the staircase being outside, there is a ladder inside that goes to an indoor loft bedroom. I thought the loft was a cool feature to add to the build as it limits space on the bottom floor.

Step 4: I started to build and create ideas on Revit. I went into Revit City to find a tumbleweed trailer. I did research on Tumbleweed trailers and I found the perfect size to use. Once I found the trailer that's when I started my build. The trailer is the base of the house, the size of the trailer helped me contain the small size. On the first floor there is a small kitchenette and a lounge area. The second floor contains the loft with a bathroom and the tiny room is the bedroom. Designing this build was very different from most of my ideas in the following steps above. I changed many things overtime in the build but in the end it came together.
