Tucker Kenney Shipping Container Fishing Shop

Thank you for checking out my fishing shop! I created this because I have a strong passion for fishing and I felt that it would be a fun project for me. I included a heater in the corner to play it safe in the event that the container is kept somewhere with a cold climate. I then added a kayak stand in the middle to give users the ability to walk around the kayak to work on it. Finally, I added a tackle pegboard on the wall near the door to stock up on and to keep tackle. I also gave plenty of open space for a consumer to have freedom of what else they include in the shop and free reign of where rod and reel storage can be. Lastly, I added luxury features such as a hardwood floor, gas loaded springs for the raised wall, and extra strength hinges to hold it all together. Overall, I had a lot of fun building this container and I think that projects like this should be carried out in real life more often, as they bring something that was going to waste back to life!

When I began this project, I created a scaled down version of a shipping container with the correct dimensions and window openings.

My second step to this project was to add hinges/gas springs that would allow one whole side of the shipping container to be opened for maintainence on the shop as well as giving users the ability to have fresh air on nice days.

After adding the gas springs, I decided to design my personal kayak stand that fits the angle and support dimensions of my 11 foot fishing kayak. This stand will allow users to fit several universal kayaks in order to walk around them as well as having the ability to work on the kayaks while in the stand.

The next crucial step to this design process was adding in the door, pass-through window, as well as the door and window framing.

After adding the windows and doors, I added the large plexiglass window for the front of the container as well as the panes to give it extra support.

For this step, I finalized the heating component of the container by adding the heating unit itself on the pipe, as well as the roof fan to keep ventilation sufficient. This will be especially important during the warm months to keep warm air moving out.

One of the most important aspects to being a fisherman is keeping your tackle organized. So, with a pegboard on the wall of this workshop/storage garage, the user is able to organize existing tackle as well as new tackle that is unopened so that it can all be better organized and visible to the eyes.

As the final step to this design, I decided to add personal lettering to the exterior wall. I felt that this writing gave character to the shop.
