Hello, my name is Tryston Ogle and I'm a first-year student in Building Trades Technology at LATC earning an associate degree in carpentry. Today I'm going to be showing how to properly screw in a screw without splitting the wood and having a board neatly screwed in with now splits.

GRAB SUPPLIES

Grab your bits, protective gear, impact, wood and screws.

GETTING SET UP

Make sure to use the same length and width for bits and screws a like so errors are made.

DRILLING PROCESS

Have drill bit placed into impact and begin drilling where screw will go later be sure to get deep enough.

SCREWING PROCESS

Switch out drill bit with torks bit and place screw into pilot whole, and then screw until flush with board.
