Crochet Granny Square blocks fantastic and fun to make. They are a very popular choice to make among many crocheters. They are popular for many reasons. Crocheted Granny Square are often very easy to make. They are easily customizable to any Size, Color and Shape. You can easily alter and color code them to suit any seasonal make.

You can use them to make Crochet Blankets , Tablemats , Pillows , Bags and many clothing accessories or simply use it individually as crochet coasters or crochet potholders. They are made with basic crochet stitches and are typically worked in rounds to create square shape.

Today am sharing the pattern for Trickle Down Crochet Granny Square Block. The pattern uses two colors of yarn. You can also use a single color tone. The stitches on the sides of the Granny Square are worked in a row below. This gives the block a distinctive trickle down texture.

Round 1:-

Chain 4.(Chain 3 will be counted as 1 Double Crochet and the Chain 1 will be counted as Chain 1 Space).

3 Double Crochets,

Chain 1.

Repeat(3DC,Ch1) untill you have total 4 Chain spaces.

Each of the Chain 1 space will make 1 Corner.

Once you reach the end , make a Slip Stitch into the 3rd Chain Stitch.

Change the yarn color while making the Slip Stitch.

Round 2:-

(Start by making the first Corner)

(1 Front Post Single Crochet in the 1st Stitch and make a Single Crochet into the 2nd leg of the same Single Crochet)- this will make 1 Front Post Double Crochet- with this method you will have a neat finish.

2 Double Crochets into the Chain 1 Space.

Chain 1.

2 Double Crochets into the same Chain 1 Space,

1 Front Post Double Crochet into the next stitch- this finishes the First Corner.

Chain 1.

Repeat(1FPDC,2DC,Ch1,2DC,1FPDC),Chain 1.

Once you reach the end , make a Slip Stitch on top of the first stitch.

Change the yarn color while making the Slip Stitch.

Round 3:-

Chain 4.(Chain 3 will be counted as 1 Double Crochet and the Chain 1 will be counted as Chain 1 Space).

Make the new corner-Front Post Double Crochet,

2 Double Crochets into the Chain 1 Space.

Chain 1.

2 Double Crochets into the same Chain 1 Space,

1 Front Post Double Crochet into the next stitch- this finishes the First Corner.

Chain 1.

1 Double Crochet into the next Chain 1 Space,

1 Double Crochet into the middle stitch of the previous round i.e from 1 Row below.

1 Double Crochet into the same Chain 1 Space.

Chain 1.

Repeat(1FPDC,2DC,Ch1,2DC,1FPDC),Chain 1 - into each of the corner stitches and (1DC,1DC(into the middle St.of the previous round),1DC), Chain 1- into each of the Chain 1 Spaces of the sides.

To finish off -(1 Double Crochet is already made with the Starting Chain 4)-1 Double Crochet into the middle stitch of the previous round i.e from 1 Row below.

1 Double Crochet into the same Chain 1 Space.

Make a Slip Stitch into the 3rd Chain Stitch.

Change the yarn color while making the Slip Stitch.

Slip Stitch into the Chain 1 Space.

(1 Single Crochet , 1 Single Crochet into the 2nd leg of the same Single Crochet)- this will make 1 Double Crochet- with this method you will have a neat finish.
