Tri-Wheeler: Hotwheels RC Conversion Kit

I had an impromptu day off and decided to challenge myself to a one-day build. One of my favorite video games is Art of Rally. The game is a love letter to the history of rally racing. My favorite vehicle in the game is the Little Monkey, which represents the real-world Piaggio Ape. The name Little Monkey is funny since the Ape is named after a Bee. Ape is Italian for bee. I bought an RC Hotwheels out of curiosity and found it a fun toy to bash around. I quickly found it was almost impossible to control and ended up damaging it. I decided I would convert it into a simplified version of the Little Monkey using 3D printing. You can find a video of it driving on my Instagram.
Warning: This instructable does require you to cut apart your RC Hotwheels! I am not responsible for any damage it may cause your RC vehicle. Perform this conversion at your own risk.
Supplies

- Hotwheel RC, I used the Corvette since I got it on sale
- Free 3D Printed Kit
- 1x 2#-56*1/4 screw and nut.
- 1x 2#-56*7/8 screw and nut.
- Here's the set I ordered for hardware.
- Hot glue gun and glue sticks.
- Platic nippers.
Prepare the RC Chassis

Unscrew the RC vehicle. Using platic nippers to cut and remove the front section from the end of the RC chip to the front wheels. See the second picture for reference. Note: Ensure all wires and antennas are cleared out of the way before cutting.

3D print the TriWheeler: HotWheels RC Conversion Kit. You can find the link in the supplies area of this instructables or here. I have a Bambu A1 and use tree supports, 15% infill, and a brim. Once printed, carefully remove supports.
Putting It All Together

Take the axle and the front wheel. Put the front wheel into the slot at the front of the vehicle. Slide the axle into the front of the vehicle and the wheel completely. Next, take the cargo bed and screw it in place to the rear of the vehicle using the 2#-56*1/4 screw and nut. Take the RC chassis and slide it into place. Take the 2#-56*7/8 screw and nut and secure the chassis to the 3D printed vehicle. I like adding a few drops of hot glue to the front axle and the RC chassis, see the 6th picture for reference. Once the hot glue dries, charge the TriWheeler up and you're ready to rally! Note: This vehicle only works on hard surfaces.
