Tres Leches Cake

This is my mom's homemade tres leches cake

Supplies

1. go to the store buy a cake mix preferably yellow cake mix, evaporated milk, sweet condensed milk, normal milk, cool whip. (If you want to make a homemade whipped cream - then you need heavy whipping cream and sugar.)

Make the Cake Mix

  1. You go home and take the cake mix out of the box before you make it, preheat the oven to 350 for one box and follow the directions that are on the box in a bowl. The cake ingredients are: 3 eggs, 1 stick of butter softened, ½ cup of water.
  2. Spray your pan with non-stick cooking spray, and when your cake mix is all mixed up in your bowl then you need to pour it in the pan and into the oven it goes.
  3. When it is done, take it out of the oven and let it cool off. When it is cool you cut off the edges and get a fork and put holes in the cake with the fork. You will need to poke the fork all over the cake so there are lots of holes.

Make the Milk Mix

4. Then you get all the milks (evaporated milk, sweet condensed milk) and open them and pour the evaporated milk and the sweet condensed milk into a cup. Fill the sweet condensed milk container with normal milk and pour it in the same cup then you stir until mixed thoroughly. Now pour the mixture on the cool cake.

5. Cover the cake with the milk mixture and add to the fridge.

6. (if making homemade) then take the heavy whipping cream and pour into a bowl the whole small box and take three spoonfuls of sugar and pour into the bowl with the heavy whipping cream then mix to your liking.

Add Everything Onto the Cake

7. Get the cake out of the fridge and put the whipped cream that you made on top. Next put a fruit of your choice onto the cake, but you don't have to have fruit if you don't want to. I'm not adding fruit but you can.
