Treat Filled Origami for Cats or Small Pets!
In this Instructable, you will learn how to make a treat filled origami butterfly cube. I made this for my rats, Pepper (the bigger, grey one) and Pineapple (the tiny tan/white one). This can also be used for cats, though! Just put in cat nip, let the shoelaces dangle on the bottom, and attach to a doorknob!
Things You May Need
Along with the items in the photo above, I used scissors and a tiny clothes pin (to keep the rope and cube in place). You only need one hook, I just wasn't sure which one I was going to use.
Starting Your Cube
After you have your square sheet of paper folded diagonally, vertically, and horizontally (see above), place it as shown, with the diagonal folds out and the other folds in. Lay flat.
It Gets a Little Difficult Here. We Are Making the Wings.
If I don't explain this well enough in the photos, let me know and I'll try to help you!
Repeat, Repeat, Repeat!
Your Finished Cube and Rope!
The rope was kind of hard to pull through, and it made the hole on the bottom rip a little, so I added a tiny clothes pin on the end of the rope, after I knotted it.
Add your treats!
Use cat nip or cat treats for a cat, dried fruit or other snacks for small pets (rats, hamsters, guinea pigs, ect.)
