Travel Wallet: Easy and Practical

Travelling can be challenging while carrying bags, luggage and all the documents. I want to have a travel wallet to put my traveling documents and passport to keep them safe and tidy. I hope you find it useful.
I get inspired by two projects to make my wallet.

Supplies

Cotton fabric

Scissors

A4 size cardboard

Glue

Sewing thread and needle

Elastic Hair Tie

Preparing the Cardboard and Fabric

I used an envelope that is suitable for A5 size papers. I created a hole in the middle of the envelope to ease the folding. After ironing the cotton fabric, I put the envelope on the top of the fabric to mark the cutting lines considering seam allowance.

Pocket and Top & Bottom Sides

For the passport pocket, I use upcycled jeans pocket, but regular fabric can be sewed as a pocket alternatively. I pinned the jeans pocket into the fabric and sewed it. After that, I glued the top and bottom sides of the fabric to the cardboard.

Sewing the Right & Left Sides

I sewed the right and left sides of the fabric. The cardboard was not sewed.

Finishing Up

I put my documents and passport into the travel wallet. I used an elastic hair tie to fold the two sides. I didn't sew the elastic hair tie to the fabric at the folding corner, but I realized that stabilizing the hair tie would be better.
