Trailing Arm on 1977 Corvette

This is how to install a trailing arm on a 1977 C3 Chevrolet Corvette, this is also the same suspension used on the C2 Corvette and will work on both cars.

Supplies

  1.  Corvette
  2.  Wheel bearing 
  3.  flange
  4. bolts
  5. tools
  6. Trailing arm
  7. Adjusting shim pack
  8. Rear shocks

Place trailing arm into frame, insert bolt (3/8in).

 Connect the trailing arm to the leaf spring by using a jack to hold up the leaf spring and applying weight on top to compress the spring. Bolt (15/16in) Nut (7/8in)

Attach the bottom of the trailing arm to the lower control arm by using the lower shock mount. Bolt (7/8in) Nut (15/16in)

Install upper end of shock to the bracket in the frame, and bottom end of the shock to the shock bracket on the bottom of the trailing arm. Top Bolts (9/16in) bottom bolts (5/8in)

Install shims until the trailing arm is aligned and the tow of the wheel is correct .
