Traditional Polish Cheesecake
This instructable will teach you how to bake Traditional Polish Cheesecake all by yourself at home. The cake can be a great treat for parties and family meetings, and the recipe is really easy to follow. The cake contains eggs and cream cheese so pay attention to those allergic to these ingredients.
Supplies
The recipe only requires 6 ingredients:
- 1 kilogram of cream cheese
- 4 big or 5 small, raw eggs
- 200 grams of butter
- 250 grams of sugar
- 2 Tablespoons of Potato starch
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
Separate the Egg Yolks From the Egg Whites
Crack the eggs in half and separate the egg whites from the yolks into 2 bowls. The egg whites cannot have any yolk in them!
Mix the Butter With the Sugar
Add the butter to the mixer and mix it until it becomes smooth. After that pour the sugar into the mixer and stir until the two ingredients combine.
Add the Egg Yolks and Vanila Extract
Add the yolks to the mixer and mix together with the butter. After that pour the vanilla extract into the mixer.
Add the Cheese and Potato Starch
Now is time for the main ingredient; cream cheese. While the mixer is running at a slow speed, slowly add the kilogram of cheese into the mixture. After all of the cheese is added, pour the potato starch into the mixer and let it spin until a smooth consistency is reached.
Pour the Batter Into the Cake Tin and Clean the Mixer
When the batter is finished, pour it into the cake tin and set it aside. After that clean the mixer very thoroughly, as it is very important to have a clean machine in the next step.
Mix the Egg Whites
Now take the earlier set aside egg whites and add them to the mixer. Make sure there is no water or any other ingredients in the mixer because the egg whites will not stiffen if there is something in them. Add a pinch of salt and mix the whites until they become stiff.
Add the Whites to the Batter
After the egg whites stiffen in the mixer, take them out on the cake tin and carefully mix them into the batter.
Bake the Cake
Take the cake tin with the batter and place it in a preheated oven for 1 hour at 180°C. After the hour passes take the cake out and leave it for a few hours (overnight is ideal). The cheesecake is not a cake that is eaten hot, but rather a cold desert.
