Toyota AYGO Peugeot 107 Citroen C1 Tail Light Seals

The problem:

It is very common for the original foam seal to fail and cause leaks

The foam gasket that the tail light comes attached to from factory disintegrates over time due to its poor structure. This allows water to enter through the gasket and into the boot, causing puddles of water on the boot floor

Symptoms of the fault:

Water leaking through the tailgate or rear body via the tail lights, damp boot carpet, puddles of water in the boot, condensation or moisture build up in the tail lights

Our solution:

Fit our improved design / material seals and cure these leaks.

Our improved design seals are precision die cut (for the best finish) from the best quality closed cell foam, a far superior material to the original. Remove the old worn seals, fit our seals and stop water entering the light unit and vehicle itself.

Designed and manufactured in the UK from a thicker improved material.

Our seals have a strong self adhesive backing, this is important to secure to the taillight and stops the seals slipping out of location when fitting.

You will receive:

2 x tail light seals for either Citroen C1/Peugeot 107, or Toyota Aygo

107/C1:

10mm socket & rachet

Flathead screwdriver

Tar & glue remover (optional)

Aygo:

10mm socket & rachet

10mm spanner

Flathead screwdriver

Tar & glue remover (optional)

Citroen C1 & Peugeot 107:

Open the boot and remove the two bolts with a 10mm socket & rachet. The lighting unit will become loose and can be pulled away from the body. Disconnect the electrical plug and remove from the car.

Toyota Aygo:

Open the boot & using a Philip's screw driver, remove the bolt on the boot trim on the back of the light. Move the trim away from the body to expose the two bolts holding the light to the car. Undo the nuts with a 10mm spanner to loosen the light, disconnect the electrical plug and remove the light from the car.

The original seal surrounds the electrical connector. If it does not peel off in one go, we recommend using a sharp flat-headed screwdriver to scrape away the remainder of the seal. If it is still not coming away easily, then use a tar & glue remover and a microfibre cloth.

Once the original seal is completely removed and the area is clean of any old adhesive, apply our new seal.

Peel back the paper from the reverse side, and carefully line up the seal to the light. Once you are confident it matches up, place pressure on the seal to ensure it is stuck down effectively.

When fitting the light back onto the vehicle, please be aware that since the seal is slightly thicker than the original, it may need more pressure to fit the light back into place. This does not affect the light or the fitment. If necessary, you can also place clear RTV sealant around the foam and the screws for the light.
