Toyota AYGO, Peugeot 107 & Citroen C1 High Level Brake Light Seal

The problem
The foam gasket that the third brake light comes attached to from factory disintegrates over time due to its poor structure. This allows water to enter through the gasket and into the boot, causing puddles of water on the boot floor.
Symptoms of the fault
Water leaking through the top of the tailgate, damp boot carpet, puddles of water in the boot.

Our solution
We have designed & created a new and improved high level brake light seal made of closed cell foam which is thicker than the OEM seal. It is also resistant to water to prevent leaks, and also reduces moisture & condensation entering the light unit and vehicle itself.
Our seal has a strong, adhesive backing so no messy glue is needed. This fix requires minimal tools and is easy to fit.
You will receive
1 x closed cell foam high level brake light seal
Remove the Brake Light From the Vehicle

Remove the high level brake light from the vehicle by using a Philip's screwdriver & removing the two screws either side of the light.
Pull the light out from the vehicle frame gently which will expose the electrical wire to the light & also the pipe to the rear windscreen washer jet. Gently remove the pipe, and disconnect the electrical connector to remove the light entirely.
Remove the Old Seal

Using either a sharp flat head screwdriver or a Stanley blade, cut away at the old seal. This won't entirely remove the old seal, but should remove most of the old foam.
Clean Up the Light

Using tar and glue remover (either a spray can or liquid on a microfiber), start scrubbing at the remainder of the old foam and adhesive. This may take a few minutes & some elbow grease. Make sure the lighting unit is as clean as possible to ensure that the new seal sticks to it.
Bond the New Seal

Remove the self-adhesive backing from the new seal. Line it up carefully to the light (ensure it is the right way round, it is not perfectly symmetrical), once sure that it lines up then firmly attach it to the light. Press it down and hold for a few seconds.
Fit Back on the Vehicle With New O-Ring

Remove the washer jet nipple from the lighting unit by prying a small flathead screwdriver in the joins it, this will cause it to pop off. Remove the original black O Ring and replace with our new Viton O ring.
Attach the washer jet pipe & connect the electrical connector back onto the light.
Apply a small amount of RTV sealant to the foam seal and around the screws (as water can also enter through the screw holes). Attach the light back onto the vehicle with the screws and wipe away any extra sealant.
