Towel Clips From Used Suspenders
Towels can be a bother to hang. Some don't have a loop to hang them from, and even when they do have a loop, the loop tends to snap off. That's where towel clips come in: your towels no longer need to have a piece of string to hang them. You can get towel clips fairly cheap, and we've had many over the years, but they too tend to break, or are too weak to even hold on to your towels. Here's an alternative that's both strong and sturdy, good looking, easy to make, and you might already have the necessary ingredients: a pair of old suspenders.
Supplies
All you need is a pair of old suspenders. If you don't have a pair already, get a pair and wear them for a year or two, then reuse them for towel clips! I heartily recommend suspenders to keeping your pants up, they're far superior to a belt in every way.
Gather Clips
Cut off the suspender clips. You can usually get 3-4 per suspenders.
Bend Clip Wire
The metal wire that attaches the clip to the suspender fabric will now be a flat loop (like in picture 1), and the hole will probably be too narrow for your towel hooks. You can use a pair of pliers to bend the wire to a circle, octagonal, oval, or a rectangle shape. I like to keep things simple, and prefer to bend mine only slightly with my fingers.
Hang Your Towels
We've used these for two years, they're as good as new, and we've had absolutely no problems using them. Time to hang your towels!
