Toilet Bench Padding
So this might be weird but I use my squatty potty often. But it can be cold and uncomfortable sometimes. So since I am doing on a series on upcycling yoga mats I thought this was yet another way to repurpose a mat. I hope your toes are much warmer the next time you use the Lou. haha
Clean Your Mat
Since you will be stepping on this, putting it through the washing machine may not be necessary. Cleaning with disinfectant spray or wipes may be fine enough. If not here are the deeper clean instructions.
- Before repurposing your mat, consider how you will cut it up and use it.
- Mats can be washed in the washing machine on delicate setting using tap cold or cold water. Regular detergent should be fine. No need for fabric softener.
- You may partially dry them mat on delicate in your washer then hang dry for the rest of the time.
Trace
- Decide what pattern from that mat you would like to show and place it accordingly. then->
- Flip the mat to be the wrong side up
- Then place the stool (squatty potty) face down and trace with sharpie
- Remove the stool
Cut Out the Shape
Yes, obvious, I know but cut out the shape you made on or right outside the sharpie line
Then flip it over and see if it's the right fit for the stool top. If so, great! If not, trim to size.
Glue It Baby
*note photo from a similar project
- First spread the tacky or Elmer's glue using a paint brush across the bottom of the cut out mat piece.
- Then use the hot gun on the corners and edges
- Carefully flip it over onto the stool and press down to stick.
- Watch your fingers I burned myself the first time on accident.
- Wash the brush when you are done or it will ruin the paint brush.
Admire
Yay you now will be able to go number two in piece.
