Boof.  Yesterday was New Year’s Eve which calls for recklessly drinking and eating far more than what any decent and upstanding individual should consume, particularly those who give a couple thoughts to their health every once in a while – I am not one of those people which is why I am a constant disappointment to my doctor.  I suppose there’s one good thing: At least there’s something I can do with some consistency even if it amounts to failure.

The food came in various forms of salt and fat (i.e., potato chips, sour cream, potato skins, and jalapeno poppers wrapped in bacon), and the beverages were high class Lone Star because it’s difficult to be a glutton with high alcohol percentages.  Plus it would be really weird to drink cocktails or wine with potato skins slathered in sour cream.  I’m not a total monster, yo.

So this morning, I was craving something sweet and decided to make a Toffifay (or Toffifee) Cordial, and I must say that the new year is off to a great start.  Sweet, creamy, easy, quick, and flavorful.  I love chocolate, butterscotch, and hazelnut, so this was perfect.
