Toddler Play Pen
I had helped a friend take apart their deck and was able to keep the railings. Originally I was going to use the railings on my deck, however there was no good way to attach them that would be safe without spending some money. Alternatively, decided to make an outdoor play area for our toddler. This was made at our trailer park as we are close to the main road that leads out and people tend to speed a little. We wanted to make sure our youngest had a place to play where we would not have to worry about him accidentally going onto the road.
Supplies
There was not too much that I used to make this happen.
Supplies:
- Railings (already intact)
- Deck Screws
Tools:
- Drill
- Drill Bit
Time to Build
- 15mins
Difficulty
- Easy
Lay Out Railings
For this step, I laid out all the railing pieces that I had to determine how many that I had and how big I wanted to make the play pen.
For the amount that I had, I decided to make it a square by using 2 railing sections per side.
Attach Railings
Once I had everything laid out, the next part was super easy. I lined up the railing pieces to be able to screw them together securely.
I used 2 screws on the top and 2 screws on the bottom of the railings to attach them.
Completed Product
I continued to add more railings to it until they were all attached.
By no means is this perfectly squared as some railing pieces were slightly larger than other pieces. I did my best to use similar sizes but this was a quick put together and I was not worried about making sure it was perfectly squared.
Add Fun Stuff
After it was all completed and moved to where the final location would be, we added a water table, slide, and a tent for him to play in.
