Supplies needed:
glass to make a circle, tissue paper, scissors, sharp pencil, glue stick, needle and thread
You will need 20 stars to make one ornament. You can choose to make all 20 stars in one color or mix and match colors as desired!
To make one star:
Using a glass or the circle template, trace a circle onto the tissue paper and cut out the circle.
Cut 8 slits around the circle spaced equally apart (this need not be perfect!) The slits should be the length of a pencil tip (about 3/4”).
Place the tip of a pencil in the center of one of the slits and wrap the tissue around the pencil. Before wrapping the paper complexly, use a glue stick and rub a tiny bit of glue on the edge of the tissue paper. Finish wrapping it around the pencil so it sticks.
Remove the pencil and repeat with the remaining slits to make a star.
Repeat 19 more times to make 20 stars.
Using a needle and about 10 includes of thread insert the needle into the center or each star to string together.
After stringing the last star squeezing the stack together and place a drop of hot glue at the top. Let dry completely.
Leave about 3-4 inches of thread and trim the rest. Make a not at the top and use the thread to hang the paper ornament!
