Do you remember when your parents used to scold you and didn't give you permission for certain things? Well now the tables have turned, and now you are the parent. Parents will always be the pillar of one's life. Don't let the communication gap come between you and your kids. We have a few effective tips for you to bridge this communication gap.

Think From Their Perspective:

Do not negate them immediately, think from their side, and talk it out in their teenage language (you literally need to go back to your teenage days to understand and communicate better) With the difference in your age sometimes your thinking won't match. Try to understand them and help them instead of scolding them.

You Initiate His/her First Party Plan and Enjoy the Party Together:

No parent wants their child to get spoiled or get influenced by bad company. Be a friend first! Plan your son's/daughter's party together. Try to get involved in all their party plans and try to be friends with their friends as well. Your kid will never hide anything from you if you are their friend first and parent later. Start becoming their best friends by the time they turn 9 because from this age their life starts changing.

Start to Talk About Your College Crushes:

We all had a crush! This is their age to get attracted to the opposite gender. Instead of being scared, try to chill with your kid as if you were talking to your best friend from those days (this will make him/her comfortable to share all her details with you).

Don't Fulfil Their Every Demand:

It is okay to say NO. Every parent wants to give their child everything their child wants. Do not fulfil their every demand. This will make them stubborn. If you trace any stubborn behaviour in their early years, do not start fulfilling all their wishes - keep a barter for example if you want an iPhone 11 you need to go and feed 111 beggars from the money earned by you. This will make your kid understand the value of money, and he/she will do a social cause. Remember how your mother used to give you gifts from the money which she saved from monthly expenses? It's your time now as mother's day is approaching. Send gifts for your mother and tell her how much you care for her.
