Tiny Mountain House
For the Make It Small concept, I chose to create a tiny mountain house. For the mountain house, you get the different elevations from the mountain and you also get a higher up view of the things surrounding your house. Living in this mountain house can give you the comfort of having your own space without people surrounding your house or neighboring houses.
Supplies
Revit 2025
Define the Problem
For Step 1, I needed to define the problem. I needed to make a project based off the requirements of the contest. I needed to do this, figure out my model, and make my model all before January 13th 2025. For the requirements I needed to make a design of a small space that could be good use for people considering it's size.
Collecting Information
Step 2 was collecting information so, I went in and looked up ideas on what type of house I wanted to design or something similar to what I wanted to get ideas. When I was looking, I put down houses with elements that I wanted to be included into my house which could include a porch so you could look at the view and allows for an area for when people come over. Looking at these houses, gave me ideas for how I wanted my final project house to look like.
Brainstorming & Analyze Ideas
Step 3 was putting all the ideas I had for the house into a drawing to see all the different elements put together. After testing out different ways to put the elements all together in a way that it would be effective but also fit nice together.
Develope Solutions/revit Model
Step 4 was when I put all my ideas into Revit and made the model of my house. I started this off by doing the elevation changes for the mountain element of my house. Once I was finished with that, I figured out how I was going to make a leveled area for the house including the backyard. With the backyard, I got to make a flat area and have the slope of the hill still be there but with a wall and stairs to make it level. After I was finished with the outside area of my house, I started to build my actual house. Keeping in mind the small element of this contest, I had to think about how to set the house up so that it was efficient to use but also still met the requirements. After getting the layout of my house, I went in and added the porch to the front and some of the outside details including the trees and bushes around the house. After all of that I was completed with my model of a tiny mountain house.
