Timer Countdown on a PCB

IMG_8996.jpg

For this project I've created a Timer on a PCB board to that uses switches to load the value on to the 7 segment display and start countdown. At the end of the countdown the buzzer will go off.

  1. Get Solder Paste and apply it to the PCB
  2. Add the IC's to the appropriate locations
  3. Reflow the surface mount IC's (In my case, I've used an oven)
  4. Add remaining parts to the PCB by using a regular hand solder and solder paste
  5. Add wires to connect the board to power and GND

Couple of Notes:

  • The capacitors and resistors go on the back of the board. To solder them on I've used a solder paste to position them, and a hand solder to keep them in place.
  • After adding each component be sure to check the resistance to ensure you have not created a short
  • To power the board I applied 10 V
